Christine Heath, L.M.F.T., I.C.A.D.C.,

is a licensed marriage and family therapist in both Hawaii and Minnesota, and is the co-founder and executive director of the Hawaii Counseling and Education Center, Inc. and the Minnesota Counseling and Education Center. Christine has been a trainer in work involving the Three Principles for over 30 years.  In addition, she is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in Hawaii and also provides training and supervision for professionals, is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and is a consultant and trainer worldwide for social services and health care agencies, businesses and special education professionals.  





Sherilynn Y. Emiliano, L.M.H.C., M.A., M.Ed, N.C.C.
is a licensed and nationally certified counselor and enjoys working with children, adults and families.   She has been working with HCEC for over 20 years and is a provider for most of Hawaii's private insurance carriers.  She is a past president of the Hawaii Counselors Association and has received the American Mental Health Counselor's Association award as Mental Health Counselor of the year.



Julie Ray Cohen, L.M.F.T., C.S.A.C.

is a clinical therapist and substance abuse counselor at HCEC.  She is experienced in working with couples, families and individuals, as well as severely mentally ill clients. Julie is a certified substance abuse counselor who also provides substance abuse assessments and treatment for clients.



Mika K. Trawick, M.S.,

is a marriage and family therapist and is fluent in Japanese and English.  She has worked extensively with school-based programs and sees individual clients--adults, adolescents, and children. 



Edward D. Bieda, Psy.D.


is a licensed forensic psychologist.  He is the facilitator of the Ke Ala Pono Adult Program for anger management and domestic violence clients, and also provides individual, family and group counseling.  He has worked extensively within the justice system in both Hawaii and California and provides substance abuse and anger management assessments.  Dr. Bieda is a provider for most of Hawaii's insurance carriers.


Debbi Waterman

is the Administrator of HCEC and the Director of the Ke Ala Pono Program for Adolescents.  She performs client intakes and assignment and handles business matters for the agency.  She also closely liaisons with Judiciary personnel to facilitate successful outcomes for youth restorative justice classes.
